KHL Disciplinary Committee has reviewed an episode from Game 2 of the Western Conference quarter-final between SKA Saint Petersburg and CSKA Moscow. The incident in question was the 51st-minute altercation involving SKA defenseman Vitaly Vishnevsky, SKA forward Evgeny Artyukhin and the Muscovites’ forward Nikolai Pronin.
After detailed study of the incident, the Committee made the following decisions:
1) To rescind the major penalty (5 minutes) originally imposed on Vitaly Vishnevsky for fighting.
2) To uphold the major penalty (5 minutes) handed to Nikolai Pronin for fighting.
3) To uphold the game misconduct penalty (20 minutes) given to Evgeny Artyukhin for intervening in an altercation already in progress.
