The KHL Disciplinary Committee has reviewed an episode from the 20th minute of Sunday’s Spartak vs. SKA game, in which Spartak defenseman Denis Bodrov was injured by a challenge from SKA forward Evgeny Artyukhin.

Having studied the incident, the Disciplinary Committee decided to uphold the original punishment of a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for use of the knee to injure an opponent. For this offense the KHL disciplinary regulations call for an additional punishment, in this case a two-game ban, while as a repeat offender Artyukhin also incurs a further ban of one game.

The SKA forward must therefore miss a total of three games.
