The KHL Disciplinary Committee has reviewed two incidents from games played over the last few days. In the 20th minute of Saturday’s Atlant vs. Torpedo game Atlant forward Nikolai Zherdev was injured as a result of a challenge from Torpedo forward Alexander Romanovsky (see video clip below). After studying the episode, the Committee has imposed on Romanovsky a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for causing injury with an attack to the head or neck area.
In the 40th minute of Tuesday’s game in Chekhov between Vityaz and Lev Poprad, the visitors’ forward Ales Jezek received a minor plus misconduct penalty (2+10 minutes) for an attack to the head or neck area. After reviewing this incident, the Committee decided to rescind the punishment handed to Jezek.
