On the 17th of December 2011 it will be 50 years since the founding of Croatian hockey club Medveščak Zagreb – the most successful and popular club in the sport’s history in the former Yugoslavia and Croatia.
On congratulating hockey club Medveščak on reaching its jubilee, the Kontinental Hockey League proposed a friendly game between the Croatian team and one of the clubs from the KHL. “We wanted to commemorate the occasion of the club’s 50th anniversary with a special game,” said Medveščak club president Damir Gojanović. “As a result of our discussions with the leadership of the Kontinental Hockey League, it was agreed that Dynamo Moscow would come to Zagreb. For us, this is a great honor and we are grateful to the KHL for the respect shown to our club.”
The game between Medveščak and Dynamo Moscow will take place on December 17th at the Dom Športova arena in Zagreb.
