Leading automobile producer Chevrolet has announced it is to extend its partnership agreement with the Kontinental Hockey League for the 2011/2012 season.
Chevrolet began supporting Russian hockey last year, becoming the exclusive automobile partner of the Kontinental Hockey League. The first year of collaboration could scarcely have been more successful and fruitful for both parties: Chevrolet’s direct participation enhanced numerous KHL events in Moscow and the regions, as well as such high-profile occasions as the opening of the 2010/2011 season and the KHL All-Star Game.
This season, Chevrolet will for the first time become an official partner of the Youth Hockey League (MHL) championship, and the Chevrolet name will form part of the official title of the tournament.
“We are very pleased that the successful and mutually beneficial cooperation we entered into last year with the Kontinental Hockey League is to continue throughout the coming year,” - says Chevrolet Russia Managing Director Alexander Moinov. “For us it is a great honor to step out once again as a partner of the KHL.”
“The extension of our partnership contract with Chevrolet is for us a concrete result of our effective collaboration throughout the previous season,” - said Ilya Kochevrin, the KHL’s Commerce and Communications Vice-President. “We are delighted that, as one of the most popular automobile producers in Russia, a world-famous brand with a rich history and illustrious traditions has become a partner of the KHL.”
