Following the conclusion of the second month of the KHL's regular season, the League has named the top players of October in four categories.
- Best goaltender of the month went to Mikhail Biryukov (Yugra). The goalie played in eight games in October, six of which his team won. Biryukov allowed an average of 1.72 goals per game and saved 93.8 percent of shots;
- Best defenseman of the month went to Maxim Solovyev (Dynamo Moscow). In October, Solovyev took part in 11 games, scoring 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) and finishing the month at +11;
- Best forward of October went to Roman Cervenka (Avangard), who scored 11 goals and contributed seven assists in 13 games, finishing the month at +7;
- Best rookie of the month (born in 1988 or later and having played no more than 20 games in previous seasons in the country's top hockey league) went to defenseman Alexander Osipov (Amur). He played in 14 games and had six goals - including two game-winners - as well as one assist. Osipov averaged 20 minutes and 25 seconds on the ice during his games in October.
