Ibragimov banned for 1 game

Following a request from Salavat Yulaev, the KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated an incident from the game in Ufa on Sunday against Sibir Novosibirsk. In the 51st minute, visiting defenseman Rinat Ibragimov launched a strong shoulder charge from behind on home forward Alexander Nesterov, resulting in the Ufa player colliding with the boards and requiring treatment. The hit went unpunished by the officials, but the Committee found the Novosibirsk man guilty of charging and injuring an opponent (Rule 522 b). As a result, Ibragimov receives a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and a one-game suspension.
