In the 37th minute of Tuesday’s game in Moscow between CSKA and Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk, visiting goaltender Georgy Gelashvili received a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for slashing, after appearing to use his stick to lunge at Moscow forward Geoff Platt. After reviewing all the evidence related to the incident, the KHL Disciplinary Committee ruled that the referee’s decision was correct, and has suspended Gelashvili for one game.
