SKA Saint Petersburg has announced the departure from the club of head coach Vyacheslav Bykov, a mere two months after he guided the Army Men to victory in the Gagarin Cup final.

“Vyacheslav Bykov is leaving his post at Petersburg due to family reasons … the club would like to express its deepest gratitude to Mr Bykov and his staff for their work and their contribution to SKA’s historic triumph in the Gagarin Cup.” said the club in an official statement today.

The KHL champions have not as yet made any comment about a possible successor to Mr Bykov.
