Summanen leaves Avangard
Avangard Omsk president Vladimir Shalaev has given a press conference during which he announced that the club will not be renewing the contracts of Finnish head coach Raimo Summanen and his coaching staff.
Former assistant and youth team coach Evgeny Kornoukhov will be in charge of team affairs until a permanent replacement for Summanen is found.
The Omsk men finished fourth in the Eastern Conference standings and progressed to the second round of the play-offs, where they suffered a 4-1 series defeat at the hands of Ak Bars Kazan.
