Titov resigns from Novokuznetsk
German Titov has announced he is resigning from his post as head coach of Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
In a statement published on the club’s official website, Titov said, “The management did offer me a new contract, but they had long-term deal in mind. For reasons outside my control, I felt unable to accept the offer and therefore, by mutual agreement, it was decided that I would leave the club. We have parted company on very amicable terms. We had a frank, open discussion and both parties fully understood the other’s position. I have certainly enjoyed working here. Metallurg has great fans and a good young team with a lot of potential. I would like to thank the coaching staff for their hard and selfless work, and I also thank the club management, particularly our general manager, Vladimir Rokkel, for entrusting me with the team in spite of my relative lack of coaching experience. As I look back at my time working with Metallurg, I have only positive emotions.”
