Bratislava to host Donbass vs. Lev games

The Kontinental Hockey League has announced that Games 3, 4, 5 and if necessary, 6 of the Western Conference semi-final series between Lev Prague and Donbass Donetsk will be held at Bratislava’s Slovnaft Arena.

The decision to stage Games 3, 4 and 6 in the Slovak capital was made after a commission of experts from the League carried out a detailed inspection of the security issues at the Arena Druzhba in Donetsk. While the specialists were highly impressed by the professionalism and efforts made by the Donbass staff to guarantee security at home matches, the League must take into account the unstable nature of the political situation in the region and also the official recommendations submitted to the League by Ukraine’s Interior Ministry, and has therefore reluctantly decided to switch all Donbass home games in the series to Bratislava.

Game 5 has been moved from Prague to Bratislava due to the unavailability of Lev’s Tipsport Arena on March 26.
