To mark the end of the eleventh week’s play of the championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender of the week was Edgars Masalskis (Yugra), who recorded two victories in two games, allowing an average of 0.95 goals and with a save percentage of 97.18;
– Best defenseman was Vitaly Proshkin (Salavat Yulaev), who in three appearances scored one goal, assisted on three more and earned an efficiency rating for the week of +3;
– Best attacker was Nicklas Backstrom (Dynamo Moscow). From just two games the Swede’s haul for the week stood at three goals, including one game-winner, three assists and a +3;
– Best rookie was Backstrom’s young Dynamo team mate, defenseman Andrei Mironov. He also had two outings, in which he supplied one assist, averaged 18 minutes and 11 seconds of ice time and finished the week at a +5.
