With the end of the fifth month of the KHL’s regular season, the League has named the top players of January in four categories.

- Best goaltender was Teemu Lassila (Metallurg Novokuznetsk), who in January played 10 games, allowed an average of 1.76 goals per game and saved 94% of shots;

- Best defenseman was Kevin Dallman (Barys), who notched 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) in 10 games and earned a rating for the month of +9;

- Best forward was Evgeny Kuznetsov (Traktor), who registered a haul of 12 points (6+6) from just 9 games.

- Best rookie of the month was Stanislav Bocharov (Yugra). In 8 games the forward scored 3 goals, added 2 assists and merited a rating of +3.
