The fifth month of the KHL's regular season has come to an end, and the League has named the top players for January in four categories.
- Best goaltender of the month went to Dominik Hasek (Spartak). The Czech goalie played 11 games in January, of which his team won ten. Hasek kept the opposition of the scoreboard four times last month, allowed an average of 1.57 goals per game and saved 94.9% of shots;
- Best defenseman of the month went to Kevin Dallman (Barys, pictured). In January the Astana team’s captain took part in 13 games, scored 14 points (3 goals, 11 assists) and achieved a rating of +9;
- Best forward of January went to Pavol Demitra (Lokomotiv), who featured in 11 games, scoring 8 goals and supplying the passes for 11 more to finish January at a +5;
- Best rookie of the month went to Spartak Moscow defenseman Grigory Zheldakov, who assisted on three goals in his 12 games, during which he averaged 18 minutes and 10 seconds on the ice.
