The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied two incidents from Monday’s games in the Championship.
In the 26th minute of the game in Vladivostok between Admiral and Dinamo Riga, visiting defenseman Guntis Galvins picked up a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for slashing in a tussle with home team forward Yaroslav Alshevsky. After reviewing the episode, the Committee upheld the referee’s decision and suspended Galvins for one game.
In Zagreb, Slovan Bratislava forward Andrej Stastny also earned a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes), and for the same offense, after clashing with Medvescak defenseman Geoffrey Kinrade. Once again, the Committee supported the punishment imposed by the referee, and Stastny also receives a one-game suspension.
