Monday’s two KHL games took place in the Far East, where Amur and Admiral hosted Metallurg Novokuznetsk and Sibir for the second time in 24 hours. Both games saw yesterday’s defeated teams turn the tables on their opponents with Amur winning 2-1 to avenge a 0-3 loss and Sibir prevailing 4-2 after a 2-1 reverse the previous day. Two goals in 20 seconds turned the game around for Sibir, with Patrick Hersley’s power play strike on 37:38 cancelling out Alexander Kuznetsov’s opener for Admiral, before Dmitry Monya made it 2-1 on 37:56. Sergei Shumakov and David Ullstrom extended the advantage before Vladislav Ushenin got a late consolation. Sibir remains second in the East; Admiral is still one point adrift of a play-off spot. In Khabarovsk the league’s bottom two teams were separated by Mikhail Fisenko’s goal for Amur in the 50th minute.
