CSKA edges clear at top. November 21 round-up

CSKA increased its lead at the top of the KHL table despite being taken to a shoot-out by Torpedo. Roman Lyubimov scored twice post-game to give CSKA the win and lift Moscow’s Army Men two points clear of their Petersburg rivals ahead of Monday’s eagerly awaited summit clash. The teams tied 3-3 in regulation, with Wojtek Wolski (1+2) and Jarkko Immonen (1+1) leading the home scoring and Jan Mursak scoring two for CSKA. Mursak’s second, midway through the third period, put CSKA 3-2 up, but that lead lasted less than two minutes before Wolski helped created Artyom Blazhiyevsky’s equalizer, the 20-year-old’s first ever KHL goal. CSKA negotiated a penalty on Chad Billins in overtime as the game went to a shoot-out.
