Radulov rescues CSKA. October 28 round-up
Alexander Radulov was CSKA’s savior in an overtime win at Severstal. After a scoreless first period Damir Zhafyarov put CSKA ahead early in the second, only for two goals in barely a minute from Marek Kvapil and Dmitry Kagarlitsky to turn the game around. But Radulov got to work: in the 54th minute he fired in a shot from the blue line and Nikolai Prokhorkin was waiting on the slot to turn it past Jakub Stepanek and tie the game at 2-2. Then in overtime the pair combined again: Prokhorkin screened Stepanek as Radulov worked his way to the center to fire home his fifth GWG of the season. Hedberg’s winning debut for Medvescak Edwin Hedberg was already one of the KHL’s more exotic players – but the 20-year-old Colombian-born Swede made the headlines for the right reasons on his Medvescak debut.
