Following Monday's match in Moscow between Spartak and Amur Khabarovsk, the KHL Disciplinary Committee investigated the conflict which broke out in the the 15th-minute and led to Amur defenseman Jan Kolar and his team-mate and fellow Czech, forward Tomas Zohorna, being sent to the locker room for the remainder of the game.

After studying all the available evidence, the Committee supported the decision to punish Kolar with a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for causing injury by checking to the head and neck area. Such offenses can incur further punishment, and for this offense Jan Kolar has been fined and disqualified for the maximum of five games.

The Committee also upheld the decision to give Zohorna a double minor plus game misconduct penalty (2+2+20 minutes) for leaving the bench, and as a result, he receives a fine and a three-game suspension.
