In response to a request from the Refereeing Department, the KHL Disciplinary Committee has reviewed an epsode from the final minute of Wednesday’s match in Bratislava between Slovan and Ak Bars Kazan, when home team defenseman Nick Ebert received a minor penalty (2 minutes) for elbowing.

After investogating the incident, the Committee judged Ebert guilty of injuring an opponent by checking to the head and neck area. The minor penalty has therefore been overturned and replaced with a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes), which means Ebert must pay a fine and serve a one-game suspension.
