The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated several incidents from Tuesday’s Game 1 of the Western Conference quarter-final series between CSKA and Jokerit, and two players have been disqualified from Game 2 as a result.

In the 52nd minute, CSKA was punished with a penalty shot for a trip by defenseman Grigory Panin (№ 57). After reviewing the episode, the Committee ruled that the foul merited a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes). As this is not the first 20-minute penalty the player has earned this season, the disciplinary regulations on repeat offending state that he must also pay a fine and serve a one-game suspension.

In the 60th minute, CSKA forward Pavel Karnaukhov (№15) received a major penalty (5 minutes) for fisticuffs. After reviewing the evidence concerning this incident, the Committee decided the player’s behavior merited a minor plus major plus game misconduct penalty (2+5+20 minutes), a fine, and a one-game suspension.
