Great goals, spectacular saves and the hardest hits, with the artistry of Sannikov and Shalunov, the wizardry of Koshechkin and the brute force of Joensuu – the KHL is proud to bring you the best moments from the twenty-second week of the Championship.

Top 10 Goals: Sannikov supplies Shalunov

Avtomobilist forward Alexei Mikhnov had already gathered up a head of steam when he collected the puck in the neutral zone, and true to his team’s name, he simply motored around the Minsk defense and left Canadian goaltender Ben Scrivens with no chance. Third place.

Traktor forward Artyom Penkovsky takes second place with another impressive solo strike. He seemed headed for the corner, but burst through on goal via a graceful arc which sliced through the SKA defense before beating his fellow 21-year-old, Igor Shestyorkin, from close range.

Sibir forwards Stepan Sannikov and Maxim Shalunov take first place with this beautifully executed team effort. Sannikov’s perfectly timed and inch-perfect pass from deep found the stick of Shalunov, who found himself one-on-one with the goalie and was in no mood to miss. Our winner!

Top 10 Saves: Koshechkin denies Dinamo

Metallurg Magnitogorsk forward Alexander Semin received a great pass but saw before him CSKA goalie Ilya Sorokin already dropping to the ice to cover a momentarily empty net. The attacker tried to deceive the keeper with some slick stick-work, but the youngster was wise to it. Bronze medal save.

SKA is always dangerous in power play, and things looked ominous when Finnish forward Jarno Koskiranta dispatched the puck toward an apparently unguarded Traktor net, but suddenly, somehow, Vasily Demchenko got his glove in the way A silver medal save from the 22-year-old goalie.

Our winner is a double save, from a move which began when Dinamo Minsk forward Denis Kokarev was left one-on-one with Vasily Koshechkin. The Magnitka goalie repulsed the threat, but the puck ricocheted to Konstantin Gorovikov, who had time and space to pick his spot. Koshechkin prevailed, and takes our gold medal for week 22.

Top 10 Hits: Joensuu benches Kuptsov

Dynamo Moscow forward Ansel Galimov launched a lively burst into the Magnitogorsk zone, but suddenly encountered 19-year-old defenseman Grigory Dronov. Smash! Our third best hit of the week.

Dinamo Riga defensemanAleksandrs Jerofejevs ghosted along his own blue line and greeted Stanislav Chistov with his shoulder. Highly effective, but only second best in our ranking.

Jokerit forward Jesse Joensuu was so keen to stop young Ugra forward Sergei Kuptsov that he deposited him on the opposition bench. Our hit of the week.
