The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated the incident from the 43rd minute of Friday’s SKA versus Metallurg Novokuznetsk match in Saint Petersburg, in which visiting defenseman Alexander Titov was given a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for injuring home forward Alexander Barabanov by checking to the head and neck area.

After reviewing the episode, the Committee upheld the referee’s decision and deemed the foul serious enough to warrant additional disciplinary measures. As a result, Titov receives a fine and a two-game suspension.
