To mark the end of the fourteenth week’s play of the ninth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.

– Best goaltender was Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow), who helped his team achieve four wins out of four games, including two shutouts – part of an unbeaten spell lasting 180 minutes and 12 seconds. Yeryomenko also recorded the best save percentage (97.60) and goals against average (0.74) of any goalie in the League last week;

– Best defenseman was Juuso Hietanen (Dynamo Moscow), who also featured in all four of the Blue-and-Whites’ victories over the past seven days. Hietanen took points and earned a positive rating in each game, ending the week with 2 goals, 2 assists and a +4, and he also contributed 6 hits and 7 blocks;

– Best forward was Maxime Talbot (Lokomotiv), who celebrated three wins in three outings, thanks in no small part to his contribution of 11 shots and 5 points (1+4). The Canadian ended each game with a plus rating, meriting a +5 for the week, and his goal against Barys was the game-winner;

– Best rookie was 21-year-old Spartak defenseman Vladislav Provolnev, who enjoyed three outings and finished the week with a +3, no negative ratings, 5 shots at goal, and an average of 16 minutes 45 seconds on the ice.
