To mark the end of the thirteenth week’s play of the ninth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.

– Best goaltender was Drew MacIntyre (Medvescak), who made two appearances on the road and kept the hosts off the scoreboard in both games. The Canadian’s shutout series now stretches to 138 minutes and 30 seconds;

– Best defenseman was Viktor Antipin (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), who helped his team to victory in all three matches, recording 5 points (2+3) in the process. Moreover, both his goals (against Dynamo Moscow and Lokomotiv) were the game-winners. Antipin did not receive a single negative rating on his way to earning a +3 for the week;

– Best forward was Gennady Stolyarov (Neftekhimik), who celebrated three wins in three road games and a personal haul of 6 points (3+3), with a goal in each game. Stolyarov’s other stats for the past seven days include 13 shots, 8 blocks, 3 hits, no negative ratings and a +1 for the week;

– Best rookie was 19-year-old Metallurg Magnitogorsk goalie Ilya Samsonov, with three wins from three outings, one shutout, a save percentage of 95.61 and a goals against average of 1.67.
