To mark the end of the ninth week’s play of the ninth season of the Championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.

– Best goaltender was Mikko Koskinen (SKA), with three wins (including one shutout) in three road matches, a save percentage of 96.20 and a goals against average of 0.96;

– Best defenseman was Blake Parlett (Medvescak), who contributed 3 points (0+3), 5 blocks, and 5 hits as he helped his team to victory in all three games. The Canadian merited a positive rating in each match, earning a +4 for the week;

– Best forward was Brandon Kozun (Lokomotiv), who recorded 6 points (4+2) as he celebrated three victories in three road games. The Canadian did not receive a single negative rating, ending the week at a +4, and scored a double which included the game-winner, against Barys in Astana;

– Best rookie was 20-year-old Sibir goalie, Alexei Krasikov, who was called up due to injury and performed superbly against CSKA and SKA, helping his team claim a surprise shootout win over the Muscovites and recording a %Sv of 95.7 and a GAA of 1.89.
