To mark the end of the nineteenth week’s play of the eighth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.

Best goaltender was Viktor Fasth (CSKA), with two shutouts in two games on the road;

Best defenseman, for the second time this season, was Michal Kempny (Avangard), with 3 points (1+2) from three victorious outings. Kempny also contributed 7 blocks, 4 hits, and did not receive a single minus on his way to earning a +4 for the week;

Best forward, also for the second time of the campaign, was Nigel Dawes (Barys), who after three appearances ended the week with two wins, 5 points (3+2) and a +5. Dawes’s three goals came in the form of a hat-trick at Lada, which included the game-winner;

Best rookie was 21-year-old Avtomobilist goalie Igor Ustinsky, whose account for the week stands at two victories from two games on the road, including one shutout. Ustinsky recorded a save percentage of 97.62 and a goals against average of 0.50.
