Following a request from the KHL Refereeing Department, the Disciplinary Committee has investigated an episode from the 9th minute of Friday’s Neftekhimik versus CSKA game. Moscow forward Andrei Svetlakov was unable to continue for the remainder of the game following a collision with Nizhnekamsk defenseman Alexander Yevseyenkov, for which the latter received a minor penalty (2 minutes) for interference.

Having studied the incident, the Committee upgraded the foul to the more serious offense of checking a player not in possession of the puck, for which Yevseyenkov receives a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and a two-game suspension.
