The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated two incidents from Saturday’s game in Astana between Barys and Medvescak.

In the 3rd minute, Barys forward Damir Ryspayev was given a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for being the instigator in a brawl with visiting forward Nathan Perkovich. After reviewing the episode, the Committee upheld the referee’s decision and deemed the offense worthy of a one-game suspension. As this is the third time this season the Astana man has been penalized for fighting - twice as the instigator of a brawl - and also has a previous 20-minute penalty on his record, he incurs an automatic two-game suspension for repeat offending. Damir Ryspayev is therefore banned for three games.

In the 35th minute, Zagreb defenseman Blake Parlett was sent to join Ryspayev in the locker room for illegal use of the knee in a hit on home forward Maxim Khudyakov. After viewing the evidence, the Committee supported the referee’s decision to punish the foul with a major plus game misconduct penalty and ruled that this offense also merited a one-game suspension. This was the player’s second 20-minute penalty of the current campaign, thus incurring a mandatory one-game disqualification for repeat offending. Blake Parlett is therefore suspended for two games.
