To mark the end of the ninth week’s play of the eighth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories. 


Best goaltender was Niklas Svedberg (Salavat Yulaev), with two wins from two games; including one shutout. Svedberg’s unbeaten spell now stands at 113 minutes 03 seconds; 

Best defenseman was Ivan Lekomtsev (Avangard), who helped his team to two road wins in three games, finishing the week with 2 points (1+1), including the game-winner against Slovan, and a +4; 

Best forward was Sergei Shmelyov (Spartak), who recorded 6 points (1+5) in two road victories, banking three points in each game; 

Best rookie was 20-year-old Torpedo forward Denis Shurakov, who returned from two victorious outings on the road with 3 points (2+1), including the winning goal against Amur, an average ice time of 13 minutes 51 seconds and a +2 for the week.
