The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied an incident from the 55th minute of Thursday’s game in Khabarovsk between Amur and Spartak, in which Moscow forward Gleb Klimenko received a minor plus misconduct penalty (2+10 minutes) for what appeared to be a deliberate blow to the head of home forward Vladislav Ushenin.

After reviewing the evidence, the Committee supported the official’s view that Klimenko was guilty of checking to the head and neck area, but decided the foul merited more severe punishment. The Committee has therefore replaced the minor plus misconduct with a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and a two-game suspension.
