Kaspar banned for 5 games

The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated an incident from Saturday’s game in Khanty-Mansiysk between Ugra and Severstal Cherepovets. In the 46th minute, home forward Lukas Kaspar, struggling with an injury and clearly aggrieved by the officials’ refusal to halt play, hurled his stick at referee Nikolai Akuzovsky and was sent off for the remainder of the game.

The Committee upholds the decision to award a game misconduct penalty (20 minutes) against Kaspar for abuse of an official and unsportsmanlike conduct, and has suspended the Czech forward for five games.
