In the first of a series of the most popular action clips from the sixth KHL Championship, we at present to you the five most frequently viewed goals of the season.

First place went to this fantastic goal by Lokomotiv forward Geoff Platt, scored in Game 5 of the Western Conference final series against Lev. Sergei Plotnikov battled away in the corner before passing to the advancing Platt, who managed to shrug off the attentions of Michal Birner while juggling the puck in the air with his stick. His third airborne touch smashed the puck high into Petri Vehanen’s net.

The second most viewed finish was by Slovan forward Miroslav Satan, with this short-handed strike on the road at Dynamo Moscow in the regular season. The Slovak legend showed us in his last campaign before retiring just how a combination of extra experience and skill can come together to create a masterpiece of a goal.

In third place was this classic from Riga striker Kyle Wilson. The crafty Canadian expertly predicted Tractor goalie Michael Garnett’s movement back toward his goal, and from behind the net he sent the puck straight at his compatriot, who duly deflected it into the goal.

Fourth place goes to Denis Mosalyov. Timing is everything, as they say, and in this home encounter Dynamo Moscow had fallen behind three times, before Alexei Tsvetkov leveled the score once again in the final minute, and a mere four seconds before the siren Mosalyov brought Dynamo victory with this deft touch.

In the first period of Dynamo’s regular season visit to Kazan, the puck fell to Ak Bars’s powerful forward, Alexander Svitov, in front of his own goal, and off he charged on a glorious winding run from one end of the ice to the other, only releasing the puck when he sent it into the back of the Muscovites’ net.
