The KHL Disciplinary Committee has studied footage of the fight which broke out between SKA forward Ilya Kovalchuk and Lokomotiv defenseman Jonas Holos at the end of Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-final series in St Petersburg on Wednesday.

The Committee upheld the referee’s decision to punish Kovalchuk with a minor, major and game misconduct penalty (2+5+20 minutes) for being the instigator in a brawl. No additional sanctions were imposed, which means the SKA captain is available to play in Game 6 of the series in Yaroslavl on Friday.
