Nemec banned for 3 games

In the 60th minute of Friday’s game in Prague between Lev and Ak Bars, home team defenseman Ondrej Nemec launched an illegal hit to the head of Kazan forward Alexander Svitov. The foul went unpunished by the officials. After studying the incident, the KHL Disciplinary Committee has imposed on Nemec a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for causing injury with an attack to the head or neck area, and has suspended the Czech for two games. As this was his second game misconduct penalty of the current season, Nemec incurs an automatic one-game suspension and is therefore banned for a total of three games.
