The KHL Disciplinary Committee has investigated two incidents from Tuesday’s game in Yekaterinburg between Avtomobilist and CSKA Moscow.
In the 13th minute, CSKA forward Fyodor Fedorov launched an illegal hit on Avtomobilist forward Anatoly Golyshev by the boards. The Committee decided the challenge was an attempt to injure an opponent by checking to the head and neck area, and therefore merits a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) and an additional two-game suspension.
The Committee also studied home team forward Vasily Streltsov’s 50th-minute foul on the Muscovites’ forward Ivan Nepryayev, which earned the Yekaterinburg player a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for checking to the head and neck area. The Committee upheld the referee’s decision and Streltsov also receives a two-game ban.
