Tom Rowe, the third to go

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl has announced that the club has relieved Tom Rowe from all duties as head coach and replaced him with youth team boss Pyotr Vorobyov. Dmitry Yushkevich and Igor Yefimov have been named as Vorobyov’s assistants. Club president Yury Yakovlev said that Tom Rowe had done a lot for Lokomotiv but the results so far this season fall well below the high standards expected from the team.

Pyotr Vorobyov was head coach of the Yaroslavl club from 1996 to 2001 and again for the latter part of the 2010-11 season, before spells coaching Lokomotiv’s VHL and YHL teams. Rowe is the third coaching casualty of the new season, following Petri Matikainen’s exit from Avangard and Sergei Svetlov’s dismissal by Atlant.
