In the 60th minute of Monday’s game in Chelyabinsk between Traktor and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, a major brawl erupted around the home team’s goal. Players from both teams left the bench to join in the fighting.

The KHL Disciplinary Committee has scrutinized the incident and released its decisions:

1) The double minor plus game misconduct penalty (2+2+20 minutes) handed to Neftekhimik defender Alexander Seluyanov (for being the first player to leave the bench to join in an altercation) remains in place, and the Committee has imposed the maximum corresponding ban of five games for the offence.

2) The double minor plus game misconduct penalty (2+2+20 minutes) handed for the same offence to Traktor forward Konstantin Panov is reduced to a misconduct penalty (10 minutes) for being among those players who followed Seluyanov from the bench to join in the disturbance.

3) A misconduct penalty (10 minutes) is also imposed on Panov’s fellow Traktor forward Vladimir Antipov for the same offence.

4) Traktor forward Petri Kontiola receives a misconduct penalty (10 minutes) for abuse of the officials.

In connection with the same episode, the Disciplinary Committee has upheld the decision to punish Traktor defensemen Dmitry Ryabykin with a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for aiming a blow to the head of Nizhnekamsk defender Nikolai Belov.

As this foul constitutes injuring an opponent by checking to the head or neck area, Ryabykin has been banned for one game.

And the final decision regarding the Traktor vs. Neftekhimik match concerns an incident from the 11th minute of the game. The Committee upholds the referee’s decision to award a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) against Chelyabinsk defenseman Evgeny Katichev for injuring an opponent by checking to the head or neck area.

In the 49th minute of Monday’s game between Avangard and Slovan Bratislava, Omsk forward Vladimir Pervushin was guilty of an illegal hit on visiting defenseman Ivan Svarny.

After reviewing the incident, the Disciplinary Committee has imposed a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) on Pervushin for causing injury by checking to the head or neck area, and also banned the Avangard man for one game.

In the 56th minute of Sunday’s game between Dinamo Riga and Atlant, visiting forward Maxim Mayorov used his stick to strike advancing Riga defenseman Arvids Rekis in the face.

The Disciplinary Committee decided to punish Mayorov with a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for injuring an opponent by high-sticking.
