To mark the end of the eighth week’s play of the championship, The Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.

– Best goaltender of the week was Vitaly Koval (Torpedo), who played in two games and recorded two wins, one shutout, a save percentage of 96.88 and allowed an average of just one goal per game;

– Best defenseman was Alexander Osipov (Amur), who in two appearances scored three goals and earned an efficiency rating for the week of +2;

– Best attacker was Evgeny Malkin (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), who collected 9 points from 3 outings – 3 goals and 6 assists.

– Best rookie was forward Nail Yakupov (Neftekhimik), who scored three goals in two games.
