Pashnin’s four-game ban

29 October 2012, 14:56

In the 53rd minute of Saturday’s game between Lokomotiv and Severstal, Yaroslavl defenseman Mikhail Pashnin used his elbow to strike visiting forward Evgeny Mons, leaving the Cherepovets man suffering from concussion. The KHL Discilplinary Committee has reviewed the incident and upheld the match referee’s decision to hand Pashnin a major plus game misconduct penalty (5+20 minutes) for causing injury to an opponent by checking to the head and neck area.

Dangerous fouls of this nature are subject to additional disciplinary sanctions, and the Committee decided that Mikhail Pashnin must serve a suspension of four games.
