Spartak, CSKA, Gimbatov punished

Fierce Moscow rivals Spartak and CSKA have both fallen foul of the KHL Disciplinary Regulations after the derby on 4th October. Both sets of fans taunted each other throughout the game with chants of an obscene and provocative nature, and the League is to impose disciplinary sanctions on the two clubs.

And bad behavior on the ice means Severstal will be without the services of Pakhrudin Gimbatov for tonight’s game against Donbass in Donetsk. In the second minute of Sunday’s game at Dinamo Riga, the Cherepovets forward picked up his second major penalty (5 minutes) for fighting, and receives an automatic one-match ban.
