In mourning

On Wednesday 6th of June, Vladimir Krutov, the legendary former CSKA and USSR forward, died in a Moscow hospital at the age of 52.

Vladimir played a total of 439 games for CSKA in the USSR championship, scoring 288 goals. Krutov was a two-time Olympic champion for the USSR, in 1984 and 1988, a six-time world champion and won the Canada Cup in 1981. In 2010 he was indicted into the IIHF Hall of Fame.

The Kontinental Hockey League extends its sincere condolences to the family of Vladimir Krutov, and to fans of hockey everywhere.
