During Wednesday’s play-off clash in Nizhny Novgorod, Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-final series between Torpedo and Dynamo Moscow, a number of incidents took place which violated the Kontinental Hockey League Regulations.
In particular, some supporters of the home team threw missiles and other foreign objects onto the playing surface (after the League had previously warned and fined two other clubs, Ak Bars and Barys, for similar incidents) causing a lengthy delay in the play. Taking into consideration that Torpedo has already received warnings for similar violations, disciplinary sanctions will be imposed on the club.
Other violations were recorded during the game of 21st of March: offensive and obscene chanting was directed at the officials, and some Torpedo supporters unfurled a banner displaying a message of a provocative nature concerning the opposing team.
The KHL notes that since the start of the season fans of Torpedo have been responsible for several infringements, and the KHL reminds the club of its duty to adhere to the demands of the Technical Regulations concerning the club’s responsibilities for crowd control.
On the basis of the above, HC Torpedo has been issued with a stern warning. In the event of any repeat of such violations the club faces severe sanctions in accordance with the KHL Disciplinary Regulations.
