To mark the end of the sixth month’s play in the KHL Championship 2011-12 season, the KHL has named the best players of February in four categories:
– Best goaltender was Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow). In February he played in 7 games, six of which were regulation time victories for his team. Yeryomenko allowed just 1.25 goals per game, saved 94.83% of shots, and twice kept the opposition off the scoreboard;
– Best defenseman was Dinamo Riga’s Guntis Galvins, who in 10 games provided the assists for 8 goals and merited an efficiency rating for the month of +4;
– Best attacker was Robert Nilsson of Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, who also had 10 outings during the month, scoring 8 goals and assisting on 8 more;
– Best rookie of the month was Vityaz defenseman Roman Tatalin. He played in 8 games, scored 1 goal, made 1 assist, and earned a rating for February of +3.
