Subbotin’s 1000th game

Sunday’s encounter with Metallurg Magnitogorsk was the 1000th top level game for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg captain Andrei Subbotin.

The forward started out on his career at Avtomobilist when the city was called Sverdlovsk, back in season 1989/1990 of the Soviet Union championship. In total, Subbotin has played through 22 seasons in the highest echelons of national championships, and in that time has worn the colors of Avtomobilist, Avangard, Sibir and Lokomotiv. Andrei celebrated his 1000th outing with a goal against Metallurg.
