With the end of the fourth month of the KHL's regular season, the League has named the top players of December in four categories.
- Best goaltender of the month went to Petri Vehanen (Ak Bars). In December the goalie for the Kazan men played eight games, five of which were victories. Vehanen earned two shutouts, allowed an average of 1.47 goals per game and saved 94.8% of shots;
- Best defenseman of the month went to Alexander Guskov (Lokomotiv, pictured), who played in nine games and scored 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) and earned a rating for the month of +12;
- Best forward of December went to Sergei Mozyakin (Atlant), who featured in 9 games, scoring 10 goals (three of them game-winners) and making 5 assists to finish December at +4;
- Best rookie of the month (born in 1988 or later and having played no more than 20 games in previous seasons in the country's top hockey league) went to Salavat Yulaev attacker Alexander Pankov, who scored three goals in five outings, ending the month at +1.
