With the end of January, the League has named the top players of the month in four categories.
- The best goaltender of the month was awarded to Robert Esche (SKA). The goalie made seven appearances in January, and his team celebrated victory in every one. Esche kept two clean sheets, conceded an average of just 1.43 goals per game and saved 94.3% of shots at his goal.
- The best defenseman of the month is Sergei Zubov (SKA). He played in ten matches, scored three goals, contributed seven assists, and achieved an efficiency rating of +2.
- The best attacker of the month is Jeff Platt (Dinamo Minsk, pictured). In the twelve matches he played in January he scored 11 goals, made assists for three more, and merited a rating for the month of +8. Three of platt’s goals were game-winners.
- The best newcomer (a player born in 1987 or later, who has played no more than 20 top-level matches in previous national tournaments) of the month is forward Alexander Komaristy (Vityaz), who played 12 times during the month, scoring 5 goals and supplying the decisive passes for three more.
