Dynamo downs SKA. October 31 round-up

The day’s top game lived up to expectations as Dynamo Moscow and SKA produced a pulsating 3-3 tie before Janne Jalasvaara in his 200th outing for the Blue-and-Whites handed them victory in overtime. That goal was created by Kaspars Daugavins, who took the puck from end to end before squaring the puck to the Finnish defenseman who was presented an empty net to seal the win. It wasn’t the only impressive goal from a Dynamo defenseman on the night: Mat Robinson’s shorthanded effort to tie the game at 2-2 was another thing of beauty, created by Sergei Soin’s immaculate diagonal that left Alexander Salak with no chance. Earlier SKA had led twice through Andrei Kuteikin and Tony Martensson, but Dynamo got in front in the third period as Denis Mosalyov produced a defense-splitting pass that took two opponents out of the game and enabled Denis Kokarev to convert from close range.
