Dinamo Minsk picked up its first regulation-time win of the season, withstanding a fightback to down Atlant 3-2 in Belarus.
Not for the first time in this campaign, power plays proved crucial: Dinamo’s first two goals came when the Bison had a man advantage. First Matt Ellison converted right at the end of a 5v3 spell, then Ryan Vesce doubled that lead late in the second.
The game-winning goal, however, came with the teams at equal strength: Paul Szczechura made it 3-0 early in the third before Atlant finally got its game together.
Goals from Andreas Engqvist and Yaroslav Dyblenko ensured a close finish, but Dinamo held on. The two teams are now paired on five points from four games.
